| Protecting your investment:
|
Your quad is probably your biggest "recreational" expense. Therefore, it stands to reason that if you have a lot of money invested in it, it makes sense to protect it as you would your car. Besides, a well-kept, good looking quad, like a well-kept, good looking car, is more than a source of pride and satisfaction. It is also a proven source of greater financial return when it comes time to sell or trade. Textile engineers from the
ATVCAB's, LLC have developed covers for all types of recreational vehicles and we put one to the test.
Remember your first new quad? The plastic was smooth to the touch and the painted racks had plenty of luster. Yet months later the paint became rough, the luster was traded for a dull finish and the plastic faded. These problems could have been delayed or prevented with the use of a quality quad cover. This cover, made of Cordura, blocks the sun's destructive UV rays as well as acid rain, tree sap, bird droppings, ocean salt water spray and even hard water from lawn sprinklers.
|
| We liked the durability of the Cordura. |
What is Cordura?
The technical definition of Cordura is "an air-textured, high-tenacity nylon made only by DuPont." The real-world definition translates into some of your most used and abused products being lightweight, abrasion-resistant and durable.
Because Cordura is available in 160-denier (the lightest), 330-denier, 500-denier and 1000-denier versions, you'll find this durable fiber in a variety of products, including backpacks, sport bags, soft-sided luggage, computer cases, hiking, work boots, lightweight performance apparel for snowboarding, motorcycling and other sports.
Fast and convenient:
One person can easily throw the cover into place, adjust the straps to the proper lengths and hook the cover onto the racks, bumpers or holes in the skid plate. The slits are for the ratchet straps. The lower rope ties in the back and the shock cords can be cut to fit your quad better. It, also, comes with a handy storage bag for safekeeping. Yes, it's that simple!
Weather conditions:
|
| This cover was made for trailering.
|
During our test, we had thunderstorms with heavy downpours and then temperatures would rise into the 90s and there was no evidence of condensation under the cover. We wanted to test the cover during trailering. We secured the tie down strap and headed to the interstate. At speeds between 60 and 65 miles per hour, the cover was not blown around and all the straps remained secure.
Conclusion:
ATVCABs, LLC uses unique fabrics to meet different needs. ATV, Motorcycle, Snowmobile and PWC covers are available. This is a quality product and it earns our recommendation.
